Trassig means “the determined child” in Norwegian and determination is exactly what we hope children will develop through rigorous, engaging outdoor play. At Trassig we have noticed today’s children increasingly displaying a preference for solitary, indoor, technological entertainment and we believe that a good playground can turn this impulse around. We seek to create environments that provide challenge and calculated risk and necessitate interacting with others. We want children to balance, spin, climb and swing. We want children to hear far off birdsong, build imaginative sandcastles and cooperate to dig tunnels. At Trassig we hope that if we create the space, they just might come outside and play.
While our end product is meant to provide years of fun for kids and families, we take our work very seriously. It is a constant learning journey for us being in this field. From safety to install certifications and training, we have surpassed every standard required to operate in the field of commercial recreation. Our experience spans two decades and counting. During that time, we have always been deeply involved in the recreation industry. We are passionate about learning new techniques and innovation, while keeping best practices in mind. Our solid experience is one of the best assets we have to offer our clients. That experience has earned us many accolades as well as well deserved state-wide contracts. We now hold the playground equipment contract for the state of Connecticut (Contract # 14PSX0154).
A playground project can be very daunting. There are so many things to take into consideration; the codes are ever more stringent and the design project requires different channels of communication between you and us. Drawings need to be redrawn, budgets need to be met, and construction needs to be managed properly. We are committed and involved in every aspect of your project. Our certified playground inspectors know the code inside and out and will happily guide you throughout the design process. Our rendering artists work hard to give you the best visuals for your playground. Whether our crew is building it or we’ve outsourced it to another company, we are involved in quality control.
We are fanatical about response time. From getting you your quotes to drawing requests, we do our best to NOT make you wait. This is something that is very important to us. If something is wrong with one of our playground equipment or surfacing, we’re on it. We understand how important it is to keep things safe and in service. Through our work with schools, churches and community centers, we have realized the importance of giving back to the community. To that end, Trassig has committed to donating 10% of our profits to families, schools and organizations that are in need. This is done through Trassig Grants and the Trassig Food Program.
If your organization serves a population that is struggling economically you may be eligible for a grant in aid. Speak to your project manager about the application process.
Trassig Food Program:
It is estimated that 3.9 million households with children are food-insecure. In fact, 16.2 million children (1 in 5) live in households that do not have access to nutritious food. As a company that designs, installs and inspects playgrounds for children, we want to do all we can to prevent children from attending school with an empty stomach. As such, we have designed the Trassig Food Program, in which families in need can be nominated to receive a gift-card for a month’s supply of food. The program will be in place year-round, as we recognize that the absence of school lunches during the summer can be particularly challenging for some families. In addition, we are also committed to protecting and respecting the family’s privacy, thus no names or contact information will be shared.
