Trassig means “the determined child” in Norwegian and determination is exactly what we aim to help children develop through the creation of engaging play spaces. At Trassig we have noticed today’s children are increasingly displaying a preference for solitary, indoor, technological entertainment and we believe that a good playground can provide some well-needed balance. We seek to create play environments that provide challenges, encourage calculated risk-taking and necessitate social interaction. We want children to develop their strength and spatial reasoning abilities while balancing, spinning, climbing and swinging. We want them to become immersed in the creative play experience; building imaginative sandcastles, experimenting with new musical instruments and cooperating to play at the highest levels of engagement. At Trassig we hope that if we create the space, they just might come outside and play.
While our end product is meant to provide years of fun for children and their families, we take our work very seriously. It is a constant learning journey for us being in this field. From safety certifications to advanced installation training, we have surpassed every standard required to operate in the field of commercial recreation.
Our experience spans two decades and counting. During this time, we have remained on the cutting edge by actively discovering and implementing new techniques and innovations, while keeping best practices in mind. Our solid experience is one of the best assets we have to offer our clients. That experience has earned us many accolades and well deserved state-wide contracts. We now hold the playground equipment contract for the state of Connecticut (Contract # 14PSX0154).
A playground project can be very daunting. There are so many things to take into consideration. As governement safety codes become ever more stringent, it requires a degree of immaculate detail orientation in order to meet them. Then the project design process requires the management of many different channels of communication. Drawings need to be redrawn, budgets need to be met, and construction needs to be managed properly. We are committed and involved in every aspect of your project. Our certified playground inspectors know the code inside and out and will happily guide you throughout the design process. Our rendering artists work hard to give you the best visuals for your playground. Whether our crew is building it or we’ve outsourced it to another company, we are involved the whole way through, ensuring a high quality end product.
We are fanatical about quick response times. From getting you your quotes to drawing requests, we do our best to NOT make you wait. This is something that is very important to us. If something is wrong with one of our pieces of playground equipment or surfacing, we’re on it. We understand how important it is to keep things safe and functional. Contact us at any time and we will respond as fast as possible.

Through our work with schools, churches and community centers, we have realized the importance of giving back to the community. To that end, Trassig has committed to donating 10% of our profits to families, schools and organizations that are in need. This is done through Trassig Grants and the Trassig Food Program.
If your organization serves a population that is struggling economically you may be eligible for a grant in aid. Speak to your project manager about the application process.
Trassig Food Program:
It is estimated that 3.9 million households with children are food-insecure. In fact, 16.2 million children (1 in 5) live in households that do not have access to nutritious food. As a company that designs, installs and inspects playgrounds for children, we want to do all we can to prevent children from attending school with an empty stomach. As such, we have designed the Trassig Food Program, in which families in need can be nominated to receive a gift-card for a month’s supply of food. The program will be in place year-round, as we recognize that the absence of school lunches during the summer can be particularly challenging for some families. In addition, we are also committed to protecting and respecting the family’s privacy, thus no names or contact information will be shared.
