Have you ever tried to cover your sand box with a regular tarp? Doesn’t work too well does it? You probably ditched the tarp for a custom made sandbox cover with grommets that attach to the sandbox at sixteen different point, so it took you 5 minutes to put the sand box on and off at the end of the day. So you simply give up. Sand box covers are important to keep animals from your sand box. If you run a daycare or a school, you actually have to cover them by code when the kids are not playing on them. We believe we have found the perfect solution to solve the sand box cover problem. Our weighted sand box covers are weighted on the sides so they are very easy to place on and take off the sand box by one person. More importantly, they stay on even on windy days. They feature a heavy duty mesh to prevent water from accumulating on top. These sand box covers are custom made to fit the exact size of your sand box and they are built using the best quality materials.
the following is what you should look for in a good sand box cover
- The top should be permeable: Unless you are dealing with a very small size sand box (Less than 4’x4′) the top of the sand box cover should be permeable, so water does not accumulate on the sand box. This often makes the cover very difficult to remove and water can become stale and attract insects.
- The vinyl of the cover should be industrial outdoor rated. the sewing should be double stitched and only the best threads should be used.
- The cover should be easy to place and remove. This is particularly important in a school environment. Teachers don’t have the time to tie every knot or fasten every grommet in a traditional sand box.
- The sand box cover should stay in place. All cheap covers will get blown away eventually. A weighted cover should stay in place on its own even in windy conditions.
